THE 8 HOUR BEAUTY SLEEP SECRET

To be honest I’m one of those who can get by on three or five hours of sleep and brag about it to my friends. But, look karma is after me and it got me good. Sleep deprivation caused me terrible changes to my body and skin. People will look at me and say I look like 10 years older than my actual age! Unfortunately we can’t make up for the loss of sleep. But here is why your skin needs its 8 hours sleep and it also applies to men:

During sleep, your body rejuvenates, detoxify and tissues renew at a faster speed as the brain releases hormones for renovation and growth. Without sleep, mini breakdowns that happened during the day stay on the skin.  It is during the night that our body works extra hard to heal and repair.

HORMONES

When you sleep, skin goes into conservation mode because the adrenaline and corticosteroid levels drop and the body produces human growth hormone (HGH) when not disturbed. If sleep is insufficient, stress hormones increase, leading chances of inflammation in the form of eczema, psoriasis, acne and skin sensitivity.
